Spotlight: Stoneridge, a Towson Community

Stoneridge is a tucked-away Towson community that blends suburban convenience with a calm, residential setting. Founded as a covenants-governed neighborhood in 1959, it offers residents a close-knit atmosphere, organized community communication, tidy streets, and maintained common areas.

Residents tend to have the same reasons for living in Stoneridge: the location, the walkability, and the dog-friendly atmosphere. The streets inside the neighborhood are quiet and you’ll spot plenty of neighbors out walking. Stoneridge also has a community park, managed by Baltimore County, that includes playground equipment, swings, and picnic benches. This neighborhood has the kind of settled quality that comes from decades of people choosing to stay put.

The Stoneridge Improvement Association runs the civic life of the neighborhood in the form of newsletters, events, and cleanups. Each spring they partner with Towson University for Impact TU (formerly known as "The Big Event"), bringing student volunteers out to pick up trash along the common areas behind Winsford, Wilfred Court, and Fairmount. The Association also sponsors the Towson Fireworks each Fourth of July, one of a handful of neighborhood groups that shows up consistently for the broader Towson community year after year.

With wooded surroundings, townhouse and condo living, and a location near Stoneleigh and Anneslie, Stoneridge has the feel of a quiet retreat in the middle of one of Baltimore County’s most established areas. This is a quiet neighborhood with easy access to downtown Towson, shops, restaurants, schools, and commuter routes.
