What You Need to Dump Now | Timing the Market | Art Show on 8/29
There are a few more weeks of summer left. If you feel like summer came and left before you got to experience it, this is your sign to go on that quick trip, take a dip in the pool, or just go outside (use sunscreen and stay cool!). I love the carefree nature of the summer schedule and will hold on to it as long as I can.
My husband and I took a road trip in August starting in Minneapolis and traveling through South Dakota (Badlands National Park, Wind Cave NP, Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway), North Dakota (Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library and NP North & South Units, Bismarck, Fargo), Minnesota's Lake Superior (Grand Marais to Duluth), then back to Minneapolis for an Orioles vs Twins game. I can now proudly announce I have visited all 50 states in the United States. How many states are left on your list? I'd love to celebrate when you visit your 50th state!
Before your schedule gets busy, make a few trips to the dump. Get rid of things you don't need, are broken, or are just cluttering your home. It's a great way to make room and gives you that fresh, new possibilities feeling. Check out the article below on what to dump now.
And if you are looking for the dump/landfill locations and hours of operation, it will depend on where you live, as many locations check your driver's license to ensure you are a resident.
Baltimore County
Baltimore City
Howard County
Harford County
Anne Arundel County
The real estate market has been an interesting one this year with rising interest rates, surges of housing supply/inventory, multiple offers in certain areas, rising housing prices, etc. This can be a challenging market for many, especially first-time home buyers. If you are trying to time the market, you may get lucky once, but here is what history shows us about timing the market. If you're thinking about selling your home or buying a home, and you want professional insights into the local real estate market, I'm here for you.
Here's to the last of summer!

One More Thing:
Are you looking for something fun to do? Do you want to support local artisans?
Come out to the New Phoenix Pottery Studio in Sparks, MD on August 29, 2026, from 10 AM - 4 PM to buy local pottery, artwork, and crafts plus see the first ever juried show. All the juried art will be on display and for sale. I have even entered a few pieces of hand sculpted pottery. I hope to see you on the 29th!
I started to make pottery almost 2 years ago as I was interested in throwing pottery on the wheel. I went from wheel to hand sculpting, and it has been so much fun! If you are interested in making pottery you can do a "Try It" class or sign up for a studio class. Classes are available for all levels.
