Two New Speed Cameras in Lutherville-Timonium

Do you live in Lutherville, Timonium, or Cockeysville? Do you shop at Graul’s Market, eat at Kooper’s North, grab a coffee at Starbucks, or swim at Padonia Park Club? 

Heads up if you drive West Padonia Road near Mays Chapel Elementary in Lutherville-Timonium — Baltimore County is turning on two new speed cameras starting September 21, one in each direction. One of the cameras was spotted in front of the Mays Chapel Village shopping center on Padonia Road past the traffic light and pointing West. 

There will be a 30-day grace period of warnings for speeding in the area, but after that, tickets range from $40 for a minor overage up to $425 if you're going 40+ mph over the limit.

Speeding Fines
12 to 15 mph over: $40
16 to 19 mph over: $70
20 to 29 mph over: $120
30 to 39 mph over: $230
40 mph or more: $425

Cameras will be active Monday through Friday, from 6 am to 8 pm, year-round, per state law.

It’s worth knowing whether you drive that stretch daily, pass through for school pickup, or drive through Cockeysville, Lutherville, or Timonium while taking an alternate route. Ease off the gas now to save yourself the fine (and the surprise) later.
