Rowhouse Garden Inspo | Have You Tried These Decluttering Methods? | Get Seasonal Allergies Under Control | Garden Events
After months of grey skies and cold mornings, spring is finally here! Which means weeks of unpredictable weather bouncing between cool breezes, warm sunshine, rainy afternoons, and brilliant blue skies ahead. But after the freeze this winter, I'll take it!
Attention: Rowhome Owners
Ever stare at your tiny backyard and wonder, "What do I do with this space?" Cylburn Arboretum has you covered. A friend on the Arboretum's Board gave me some intel, Cylburn is unveiling "City Demonstration Gardens" specially designed rowhouse garden displays created to inspire and educate rowhome owners on how to make the most of their outdoor space. Head out to Cylburn Arboretum May 9 for Market Day to shop for plants, crafts and tour the gardens.
Flower Mart & Lemon Sticks - a Baltimore Tradition
The oldest free public festival is happening on May 1-2 at Mount Vernon Place. Shop for flowers and crafts on the cobbled streets around the Washington Monument in Baltimore City. While shopping, make sure you grab a lemon stick (see photo above). This peppermint stick in a lemon half was a treat you would find at Baltimore festivals. IYKYK.
ISO: Specialty Plants & Antiques
If you are an avid gardener and love looking for unique or specialty plants, Ladew Topiary Gardens in Harford County hosts an annual Garden Festival on May 2. You can shop for unique and hard to find plants, as well as antiques. This is a ticketed festival. Inside scoop is that Martha Stewart was spotted at this festival.
Spring Cleaning
Spring cleaning isn't just good for the soul; it's good for your home's value. Whether you're thinking about selling or simply want to breathe easier in your space, decluttering is the single highest-return task you can tackle this season. See the article below for different decluttering methods to find the one that works for you. A clean, organized home feels better to live in every single day, plus it shows better if you do want to sell. Need advice on where to start before listing? I'm always just a call away.
As spring warms, you may want to refresh your front door. If you're searching for ideas to increase your home's value, read about the 7 front door colors to boost value. If you live in a condo or HOA, please consult your condo or HOA documents to ensure you are compliant with community guidelines.
Happy May!
