Part of my life is being a part of the community. I like to give back to the community where I live. My Mom says I have a big heart and I like to help others.
I believe in giving back to my profession. I am the President of the Maryland/DC CRS. The Maryland/DC CRS is an organization of real estate professionals who have earned the CRS designation. CRS stands for Certified Residential Specialist. It is the only National Association of Realtors designation which requires sales production in addition to advanced education. The top 3% of agents have earned and hold this elite designation. I lead a group of real estate professionals in hosting education and networking events to encourage life-long learning and professionalism. Additionally, I have served as communications chair and transition chair. I earned my CRS designation in 2011 and started to serve on the board in 2012.
I acted as the recording secretary for my community association from 2012-2013. I was an integral part of the board – I recorded meeting minutes and produced the community dues letter to over 600 homes.
I donated my hair to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization helping children who have medical hair loss. The goal of the organization is to improve confidence and self esteem for children through hair pieces (hair prosthetics). Do you have at least 10 inches of hair you can donate to a great cause? See my before and after photos.
In 2009-2010, I chaired a charitable organization in my previous brokerage. We raised awareness and funds to help agents give back to the communities where we live. In 2009, our fundraising efforts were number 1 in the Maryland and DC Region (of 17 offices). Fundraising included MSP/Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge, Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, general fundraising, School Supply Drive for Halstead Academy, Toys for Tots toy drive, and Food Drive for Maryland Food Bank.
I continue to support various charitable causes and community organizations.
